"Elasticsearch is one of the popular full-text search engines, used for projects of any size - from tiny in-house inventory management systems to huge data banks like stackoverflow and github. EdX platform uses Elasticsearch to back courseware search capabilities, allowing students to find learning content using just a couple of words they happen to remember from it. This talk aims to outline some technical details of courseware search capabilities, talk about elasticsearch applications in general and how can you leverage it when developing new features for edX platform.
