At Universidad Carlos III de Madrid we took the Khan Academy platform in 2012 to teach remedial courses in STEM subjects for incoming freshmen. In 2015 we have moved these courses to the Open edX platform, making the corresponding adaptations. In this presentation, we comment on the differences, including the course authoring process, the available learning activities, and learning analytics indicators.
